Caritas Chorale Announces 2020 Concerts
Caritas Chorale will sing two more concerts as part of the 2019-2020 twentieth anniversary concert season, announced Caritas President, Richard Stahl. The concerts include: “Mass of the Children” by John Rutter and “A Day of Hope and Light.”
Rutter’s “Mass of the Children” will be presented April 18th at 7 PM and April 19th at 3 PM at Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood. The Chorale will be joined by orchestra, soprano and baritone soloists, and a children’s choir. The text is that of a standard Latin Missa brevis, to which several relevant English poetic texts have been added.
A Day of Hope and Light will be presented June 6th at 4 PM at the Wood River High School Performing Arts Theater in Hailey. It features a variety of inspirational choral selections.
Caritas Choral was founded twenty years ago by Carl R. (Dick) Brown. Stahl added, “the singers of Caritas Chorale are grateful to Dick Brown for his vision and passion for choral music here in the Wood River Valley.” Caritas Chorale concerts are free and open to the public. The Chorale is open to all singers without audition. Rehearsals for “Mass of the Children” will begin in January.
